Since March 1, I work as Sales Manager for the Benelux region in the Dordrecht office. Coming from the aerospace business and being still rather new in the chemical theatre I have been submerged in the world of chemicals during the past months. Being so fresh in this challenging and constantly changing environment really makes you act down to earth, something that fits me well anyhow.

During the introduction period I have been working outside on our terminals. Through our operators I learned really well how complex and hectic storage and handling of chemicals can be. You can’t do without highly trained people giving their best. Whereas safety is one of the key factors in Aerospace, I saw how extremely important safety regulations are in our business. I am glad Vopak truly recognizes this importance. A nice special effect during my night shifts was experiencing some of the coldest nights of this winter on deck of various vessels. All in all this was a great experience thanks to our enthusiastic and professional terminal workforce.

After the first month I started working for the sales department being responsible for various accounts as well as the product group of Phenolics. I have really enjoyed these first months because of the people I have met so far among customers and business partners. I found out that there are many people working in this business who are quite devoted to their business, for decades in some cases. In general the people I have met like the business environment they work in. What makes it extra exciting is that chemicals are everywhere. Not a day, or even a minute goes by without a relation to our business. I can only conclude that the experiences I have had so far are truly promising for the coming period.

Well equipped with fresh enthusiasm and constantly expanding experience I have lots of confidence in the future and I definitely look forward to meeting and doing business with you!
