Temperatures dropping to minus 10, heavy snowfall and major traffic jams: winter conditions in The Netherlands - as in the rest of Europe - are extreme.

Despite slippery roads and icy conditions, terminal operations at Vopak VCLN have continued to take place on a 24 hours basis. No major problems have been reported and no incidents took place. When weighbridges at the Botlek terminal were blocked due to extreme snowfall, effective use of our Rotterdam terminal network enabled us to weigh trucks at the Chemiehaven terminal.

The weather conditions have called for some adaptations in our daily operations. By thorough preparations and quick responses to sudden changes in weather, Vopak has been and continues to be able to serve our Customers.
