Vopak owns and operates one of the largest independent gas terminals in Europe, strategically located in Flushing (Vlissingen), the Netherlands. Vopak Terminal Vlissingen has refrigerated tanks, pressurized spheres and special facilities for the fast and safe storage and transhipment of chemical gases for transport by road, rail and water throughout Europe.

Storage capacity
The terminal consists of:

• 6 pressure sphere tanks with a capacity of 3,300 cbm each
• 2 refrigerated tanks with a capacity of 55,000 cbm each with double integrity system
  and submerged pumps with special lifting and purging systems
• 4 jetties of which 2 for seagoing vessels with a maximum draft up to 13.5 meters.
• 4 railcar and 4 road truck loading facilities

Pressure tanks: Propane, Butane or mixtures, Isobutane, Butadiene, Butylene, Isobutylene, Crude C4 and Raffinates

Special services
In addition to LPG and chemical gases handling, Vopak can offer facilities for flushing and purging of vessels, barges, railcars, road trucks and containers. For both procedures nitrogen is used and vapours are burnt through a ground flare.

Location
The terminal is located in the coastal harbour of Flushing alongside the deep open waters of the Scheldt delta, fifty miles South-West of Rotterdam. Flushing lies strategically between supply and demand areas in North-West Europe and offers deep-water access and a relatively low traffic density with direct access to open sea.

The terminal facilities, its control system and its modes of operations have been designed in such a way that the terminal will always be able to handle and store your products in the safest way, even under the most severe conditions.

Vopak Terminal Vlissingen B.V. is one of the largest dedicated gas terminals in North-West Europe. The layout allows for simultaneous loading and discharging to and from storage tanks. Customers of  the terminal will co-operate closely on operational planning and programming including the possible  combination of shipments and product exchanges. Complete confidentiality on all commercial information is guaranteed.

The terminal has been authorized by the Dutch Customs authorities to prepare and complete all necessary customs and transportation documents. As a result document handling is very efficient.
