To meet the growing demand for storage, Vopak is investing in a new full service concept terminal on the left bank of the river Scheldt in the port of Antwerp, Belgium. By building this new chemical terminal, Vopak strengthens its position in the ARA (Amsterdam- Rotterdam-Antwerp) area.

In this area, Vopak currently operates three chemicals terminals in Antwerp and three in Rotterdam. The new terminal on the Antwerp left bank will allow Vopak to continue the ongoing process of terminal specialisation in terms of product and modes of transport in this area.

Flexible solutions
The new Vopak Chemical Terminals Benelux terminal in Antwerp will have:

• 300,000 m3 of chemical storage capacity, divided over 180 tanks in sizes ranging between 1,000 m3 and 2,500 m3
• two berths for ocean-going vessels
• two for barges and coasters
• state-of-the-art infrastructure including stainless steel lines and tanks
• highly automated operations
• automatic order processing by using internet and ERP to ERP technology
