The 3 Vopak terminals in Antwerp have developed into major break-bulk operations for deep sea and short sea import flows of intermediates and specialty chemicals.
Centrally located
Each of the terminals is centrally located amidst the Antwerp Chemical complex. They support the large petrochemical industry and the European hinterland through offering efficient storage and handling capabilities for their products. In close cooperation with its customers, Vopak developed excellent infrastructure, including state-of-the-art truck and rail loading gantries and extensive drumming capacity, focused on providing the most efficient break-bulk activities. Value added services, such as transport coordination, forwarding and warehousing add to the strength of Vopak in Antwerp, making its terminals the European distribution hub for its customers.
Building for the future
To anticipate on future requirements from its customers Vopak is investing in a new, full service concept, terminal on the left bank of the river Scheldt. Operational in 2007, the first phase of the terminal will consist of 100.000 cbm of storage capacity, to be further expanded to 300.000 cbm from 2007 onwards.

With fully automated truck and railcar loading gantries, substantial stainless steel capacity with dedicated pipelines from and to jetties and loading gantries, drumming and warehousing services, this terminal will become the state-of-the-art logistics hub.
